Living the Bond lifestyle requires being in top shape to move forward with your dreams and goals.

For years, I've been staying in shape with Franco Columbo's Superset Workout  video and a home treadmill. But recently I gave Billy Blank's Basic Training Boot Camp DVD a try.

Wow! A better workout in 50 minutes, than the 90 minute karate classes I used to take in my twenties.  Now after the Boot Camp and a hot shower, I feel like I did after karate class. And I'm ever so much older than twenty. I lost two inches on my waist in three weeks.

I bought five other of his work out DVDs to mix it up.  The Cardio Fat Blaster is a great work out. The AB Boot Camp is great, as well. But use the Basic Boot Camp as your main work out for life.

It's a tough non-stop  work out with a mix of yoga, karate, boxing, tai chi, and aerobics. Start off slowly. I recommend using wrist weights instead of the 'bands'. And don't listen when Billy says, 'left hand' or 'go to the right'.  It's best to mirror his movements to easily follow him.

For kicks, start low. And never try to keep up when he does the combined moves at fast speed. Just go your own speed.

Starting is tough, but I recommend that you always play the entire DVD, even though you might drop out for a few minutes. You will probably feel weak after the first five or six workouts, but will get stronger soon after that.

Keep some bottled water handy. Wear tennis shoes and light training pants. And ask your doctor before you start any strong training program. Read the Amazon reviews of others that have trained with Billy.

  • Great to see you back Paul.

I find the hardest part about keeping in shape is actually getting out the door and to the gym.  Your advice solves that excuse.
