James Bond is "Heeled" and Also "Well Heeled"
What's the difference between "heeled" and "well heeled". "Heeled" means he's got a weapon. "Well heeled" means he's prosperious because he can afford to have good heels on his shoes. In "Sunset Boulevard" the William Holden says,"The shoe repair guy didn't have to see your bank account. He just looked at the heels of your shoes to know the score."
George Hamilton said,"When I see a guy with an expensive watch and bad shoes, I've got him nailed."
Look the above photo. Well, we all can't be over six feet, but look at their shoes. We can all have good shoes.Get the picture. Right. Get the good shoes and keep them well heeled. They're softer than Florshiem at twice the price.Click "Next 5"bottom right for more articles.

I really never though about it but...*looks at New Balance sneakers* It would seem that I am a heelless sailor!
Whoops!
HA!
Great write.
Sail on... sail on!!!
Hmm.. I've noticed a fair number of fellows at Grand Central Station in Manhattan with seemingly expensive shoes that had terrible wear bevels in the heels. It brought to mind the opposite of Bond. Where Bond of the books drives an old Bentley that had been wrecked (presumably the British equivalent of a salvage title) and had lovingly had the car restored and looked after, these fellows bought expensive shoes and are literally wearing them into the ground. It seems to me to be much better to get good shoes and take proper care of them, including looking after the heels.
